Manly and North Head Guided Coastal Walk

Take a 4-hour coastal walking tour of Manly and Sydney Harbour National Park, and immerse yourself in the natural beauty on Sydney’s doorstep. A knowledgeable guide shows you North Head, South Head, Spring Cove, glimpses of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, and shares secluded beaches, lookout points and local lore. Learn about Sydney’s marine environment, military history, surf culture, native wildlife and Aboriginal heritage as you stroll along the Pacific Ocean. Keep your camera handy for fantastic photo ops on this small-group tour, limited to 15 people.

It’s easy to forget that you’re just a short jaunt from central Sydney as you walk through Manly Village and Sydney Harbour National Park on this informative and entertaining eco-tour. Expect to cover about 6 miles (9.5 km) at a leisurely pace with plenty of stops. The terrain consists of sandy beach, pavement and well-maintained dirt paths.

Meet your guide at Manly Wharf in the morning to begin your 4-hour walking tour. Enjoy fantastic views of the Northern beaches, taking in the sparkling Pacific Ocean as it crashes against sandstone cliffs and the sandy shore. Hear stories about Manly’s beach and surf culture from your guide and look for native wildlife such as echidnas, Australian water dragons, crabs, molluscs, kookaburras, cormorants and cockatoos.

You'll also learn about the small population of little penguins that returns each year to their breeding grounds in a secluded cove in Sydney's North Harbour.
Walk to the North Head lookout where you can see Manly Cove, South Head and glimpses of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Look for dolphins and humpback whales that migrate along the coast of NSW from May to October. North Head is also rich in military history; during World War I and WWII, artillery batteries were established at North Head to protect the city.

Stop at Spring Cove, located on the harbor side of Manly and bordered by Sydney Harbour National Park. The secluded cove features a natural spring, walking tracks, several beaches and some pricey real estate.

Your guide returns you to the starting point in Manly at the end of your tour.
