Spend 3 days in Tasmania’s magnificent Bay of Fires region on this fully guided and all-inclusive Bay of Fires Photography Workshop. You will be based at the lovely Tidal Waters resort in St Helens and spend three days shooting sunrises and sunsets in this remarkable part of the world, as well as filling up your days shooting wildlife, macro, waterfalls and rainforest and any other features of this landscape that capture our eye. Post processing session included, as is a half day visit to Wineglass Bay on the return drive to Hobart.
Depart Hobart early on day 1 aiming to arrive at your accommodation at Tidal Waters, St Helens, for lunch. The photography talk will begin early, as you enjoy the drive up Tasmania's stunning east coast.
After lunch we will visit many picture perfect locations in the Bay of Fires region, shooting the intricate orange and yellow lichen on the granite and long sandy beaches. Prepare for your sunrise session by familiarising yourself with the features of the foreshore during the daylight hours, and after a sunset shoot retire to your room for the night.
Day 2 is a full day, and on top of a sunrise and a sunset shoot includes a nice side trip to the cool, green rainforest at St Columba falls. Here, you will photograph the lovely tree ferns and cool, cascades of water - as well as the falls too. You will discuss the role various filters and other accessories can play in rainforest photography and how to achieve the silky smooth effect on the water that is such a rewarding aspect of rainforest photography. Following this session you will enjoy a rural cafe lunch at the Pyengana dairy farm.
Afternoon and Day 3 activities vary with the season, but will include a trip to the lighthouse at Eddystone Point and the stunning Picnic Rocks nearby along with at least one more visit to the Binalong Bay area. A post processing session is also included before your departure mid morning on Day 3.
After leaving the Bay of Fires, stop for a gourmet "wood fired" pizza lunch in Coles Bay. Following lunch, spend a leisurely few hours shooting the Freycinet National Park. Highlights will include a walk to the Wineglass Bay lookout as well as the stunning Honeymoon Bay, with the lovely aqua-blue water and rugged Hazards mountains allowing for some wonderful photo opportunitiesl.
Arrive back in Hobart around 6:30pm and the tour completes with a drop off at your hotel.
