2-Day Gastronomic Tour in Moldova from Chisinau
Take a two-day trip to historical Moldova and stay overnight in a traditional peasant house. Enjoy activities including baking bread and a tour of Orheiul Vechi and the nearby monastery, or simply relax in the wood-heated sauna, swimming pool, and jacuzzi.
Get picked up from your hotel in Chisinau at 10am and travel 47 miles north-east to the eco resort in Orheiul Vechi. Arrive in time for lunch, which you can enjoy on the terrace overlooking the lush greenery surrounding the River Raut.
Explore the house farm, with its many animals and birds, then join the women of the house and try your hand at baking braided bread and placinta, cheese and cabbage pies, in the traditional oven. Enjoy the fruits of your labor for dinner, perhaps accompanied by a glass of homemade wine, as you sit around the table in casa mare, the most beautiful and ornately decorated room in the house.
Afterwards, relax in the wood-heated sauna, swimming pool, and jacuzzi before a restful sleep in one of the comfortable, air-conditioned guest rooms.
The next day, after a traditional peasant breakfast you can take a guided tour of the rocks of Orheiul Vechi, visit the nearby monastery and explore the caves where early Christian communities once lived.
From Orheiul Vechi you will be driven back to your hotel in Chisinau, marking the end of the tour.
