Sailing and Snorkeling in Mexico Rocks Including Lunch
This small-group tour sails north of San Pedro Town to a beautiful coral patch in the shallow waters between the Belize Barrier Reef and the island of Ambergris Caye. Mexico Rocks is located well inside the reef, protecting it from larger ocean swells. The daylong tour includes all of your snorkeling equipment, a picnic lunch, and snacks and beverages on the boat.
This tour departs from the pier in front of Blue Tang Inn hotel in San Pedro Town at 8:30am. Make your way to the 40-foot (12-meter) Sirena Azul sailboat, which was modeled after the traditional wooden Belizean fishing boats (with added amenities for your comfort, like a bathroom, a canopied seating area, cushions, and a stereo system). Greet your captain and set sail for Mexico Rocks, a popular beginner's snorkeling spot located between the Belize Barrier Reef and the island of Ambergris Caye. The warm, shallow waters only reach a depth of around 12 feet (3.5 meters) and are protected from ocean swells. Paddle around using the provided snorkeling gear and observe coral heads, brightly colored fish, stingrays, sea turtles, and the occasional nurse shark. Back on the boat after snorkeling, you'll anchor near the shore and enjoy a picnic lunch, fresh fruits, sodas, and water. Beer and rum drinks are available for those 18 years of age and older. Relax on the decks as you sail back to San Pedro Town, returning to the Blue Tang Inn pier around 5pm.
