Nocturnal Australian Wildlife Tour from Daylesford
Find out what goes on in the wild after dark on this 2.5-hour night tour from Daylesford to Wombat State Forest. As you travel by 4-wheel-drive vehicle, look for wombats, kangaroos, wallabies, owls, and other nocturnal wildlife in their natural environment. Tour is limited to 11 people for a small-group experience.
Your night tour starts with pickup at your accommodation in the local Daylesford area, anywhere from Trentham to Hepburn Springs, for the drive into Wombat State Forest in a custom 4x4 tour bus that can traverse the Great Dividing Range in any weather.
The best and worst thing about this tour is that your guide never knows what you will encounter—every night is different. Your bus is equipped with side lights so you can be involved in the spotting of animals, which is one of the most exciting parts of the tour. Your guide gives you plenty of hints and tips on how to find them and provides heaps of interesting facts about the various Australian animals you will hopefully encounter.
The weather on the night dictates whether you will take a small bush walk or enjoy stargazing in the night sky. In addition to learning about the animals, you'll also hear about the history the area. Your tour ends with return to your pickup location.
