Melbourne Walking Tour: The Pride of Old Fitzroy

Enjoy a walking tour of Melbourne as you delve into the bohemian areas including Fitzroy, Brunswick and Rose and Smith Street. See Melbourne through a local's eyes from the beautiful architecture of Clifton Hill meander into Melbourne's first suburb. Once home to the working class, now occupied by an eclectic mix of cultures and backgrounds. See old factories turned trendy apartments, many of which still show 'signs' of a once booming hub of industry and production. As with all bohemian areas comes great street art and creativity. Includes Brunswick St. Oval, Rose & Smith St. and the grand Fitzroy town hall. A tour to suit foodies, culture vultures, history lovers, art enthusiasts and photographers!

Meeting in the beautiful grounds of Collingwood leisure center, start your day with stories of little known massacres on Hoddle street.

You will then be guided through Clifton Hill main street via the 'most beautiful' McDonald's in a 20's art deco building along into the wide, expansive side streets of the suburb. Stories of wealth, crime, scandal and poverty are told through the beautiful architecture.

Next, make your way through to Edinburgh gardens which is home to the Fitzroy lions football club and the war memorial. From the leafy suburbs to the edgy, hip and vibrant Fitzroy you'll be taken through a maze of awesome street art and creativity, passing by more pubs, bars, cafes and restaurants you can imagine.

From here you meander through the still evident old industrial area where large factories and warehouses are still standing only to be occupied by residents now. Finally via the colorful Smith street you are taken to the grandiose Fitzroy town hall where the tour concludes.
