Byron Bay and Surrounds Tour Including Brunswick Heads River Cruise and Crystal Castle
Explore the areas surrounding Byron Bay with a local guide who will show you places the locals love to go. Enjoy an eco rainforest river cruise on the beautiful Brunswick River including morning tea. Go to a lookout only the locals know where you have amazing 360 degree views from Byron Bay to the Gold Coast and hinterland. Take a short drive and guided walk through coastal sub-tropical rainforest to the headwaters of the river. Enjoy lunch then take a short, scenic drive through the hinterland to Crystal Castle. Finish the day at the Byron Lighthouse with a tour and native foods tasting.
After being picked up from your Byron Bay or Brunswick Heads accommodation you will be transported to the Brunswick Heads Boat Harbour where you will enjoy a 1.5-hour Eco Rainforest River Cruise on the beautiful Brunswick River. View native wildlife and marine life and hear about the interesting history and places with a fun informative commentary. A delicious morning tea of local plunger coffee, selection of teas, hot chocolate, cold drinks and yummy cakes and biscuits will be served as you cruise.
After the cruise you will be transported to a little know lookout which shows off the beautiful area with 360 degree views from Byron Bay to the Gold Coast and hinterland and if you are lucky you may spot a whale (in season). Another short drive will take you to the coastal sub-tropical rainforest where your guide will take you for a easy guided walk through the forest to the river mouth of the Brunswick River where you may see surfers riding the waves and maybe even dolphins.
After lunch take a scenic drive through the hinterland via the little town of Mullumbimby to visit Crystal Castle for approximately 2.5-hours. This is a unique place with amazing gardens, magical crystals, gift shop and cafe. You can take a walk with your guide or feel free to explore at your leisure.
Another scenic drive with coastal views will bring you into Byron Bay and up to the lighthouse. Walk to Australia's most Easterly point (optional), look for dolphins and turtles in the clear waters and hear about the interesting history from your guide. You finish the day with a native foods tasting and possible sunset depending on the time of year.
